Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown (vocals, electric guitar, violin, viola); Jo-El Sonnier (vocals, accordion); Tommy Moran (acoustic & electric guitars, pedal steel guitar); Ron Harris, Luther Wamble (acoustic & electric guitars); Bobby Campo (flute, trumpet); Eric Demmer (alto saxophone); Dennis Taylor, Jon Smith (tenor saxophone); Bill Samuel (baritone saxophone); Terry Townson, Steve Howard (trumpet); Peter McEachern (trombone); Chris Belleau (bass trombone); Joe Krown (piano, Hammond B-3 organ); Harold Floyd (bass); David Peters (drums); Elaine Foster, Lisa Foster, Erica Falls (background vocals).

Brown made the big jump to major-label stature for this typically unclassifiable set, which feistily sweeps through zydeco ("Big Mammou"), country ("Up Jumped the Devil"), Louis Jordan ("Early in the Morning"), and even a little blues along its unpredictable course. Cajun accordionist Jo-El Sonnier receives several solos in a guest-starring role. ---Bill Dahl, allmusic.com
