This disc is dedicated to the late Billy Adair who was a Professor of Music at Blair School at Vanderbilt University and passed away in 2004. His wife Beegie reached out to friends and other musicians to create this disc of songs that Adair and other deceased family members had enjoyed as well. Mrs. Adair also plays piano and sings a bit on this release. ---wtju.net

Pianist Adair is based in Nashville. She has played western swing, delta blues, and jazz standards for ever, and is a favorite among many of country music’s most adept performers, several of whom shed their genre stylings to join her here. Like Dr. John or the Memphis players, her touch which is deeply light, guides and frames extraordinary performances. Joining her here are Vince Gill, Delbert McClinton, Ray Stevens, and Carolyn Martin on vocals. ---kuci.org

Pianist Beegie Adair showcases the romantic standards of Richard Rodgers in the first individual CD release from her Centennial Composers Collection Box Set. Featuring such classic songs as "Bewitched," "I Could Write a Book," "My Funny Valentine," and others, Adair performs each tune in an intimate fashion backed by her rhythm section of drummer Chris Brown and bassist Roger Spencer. As is the case with all the music from this collection of Great American Songbook composers, Adair has crafted stylish, mainstream piano jazz that brilliantly capitalizes on the melodic, iconic material. ---Matt Collar, Rovi

2012 live release from the Jazz pianist. Says Beegie: ''Recorded over two nights at the wonderful performance space called 'The Cave' at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, we decided that our theme for the concerts would be simply the songs we love to perform, old chestnuts that we have played many times. We wanted the audience to feel they were in a small jazz club, and were hearing us as we sound on the road, in a club, on stage, or wherever we are playing live, instead of in a studio.''
