German born singer Doro Pesch has a powerful, highly recognizable voice. Everything she does has an air of familiarity about it you'll either love or despise.

Angels Never Die contains plenty of decent moments, if little of exception. The sound is heavy at times, best demonstrated by 'Born To Bleed', but often becomes plodding and soft. 'Last Day Of My Life', just to be awkward, is as bluesy as a night in New Orleans.

A good album, Angels Never Die does nothing that will blow your mind. Most tracks have a memorable hook and Doro sounds as good (or bad depending on your opinion) as ever. --- rockrealms.com

Doro Pesch (real name: Dorothea Pesch, born 3 June 1964, Düsseldorf, Germany) is a female vocalist, formerly of the German heavy metal band Warlock and one of the few female singers of the 1980s heavy metal scene, which was primarily a male-dominated genre of music.

After Warlock underwent many personnel changes, Pesch was the only remaining original member of the band. After changing her record label, she released the fifth album as Doro, as the former label owned the trademark on the Warlock name.

Pesch now pursues a solo career and lives in New York City.

It's such a shame that the American public has not discovered this true diamond of rock and roll music. I first discovered the sounds of Doro when she was with Warlock in the 80's and have been a fan ever since. Anyone who's into techno-tinged aggressive heavy metal with a bit of a cheese metal flavor is in for a treat with Doro. She is a poet and a musician (something quite rare in today's world of rampant hip-hop and flavorless boy bands). This one's a bit darker than some of her earlier works, but it's a sheer pleasure on the ear. As always, Doro's voice is sexy and emotional, and I recommend her every chance I get. --- Aubrey R. Since the release of 2002's Fight, headbangers waited four long years for a follow-up from one of metal's top female vocalists, Doro. But the wait was over by 2006, as the singer follows the same path she's always chosen on Warrior Soul, a mixture of metal and power ballads. One of Doro's more bombastic tracks, "You're My Family," kicks things off, before leading to such metallic rockers as "Thunderspell" and the title track. More serene material has always found its way onto Doro's solo releases, and "Above the Ashes" and "In Liebe und Fruendschaft" are the tearjerkers here. And as evidenced by the epic album closer "Shine On," there are even tracks that manage to combine both styles together as one.
