Lianne Benjamin is an ideal Swanilda, always alert and fun loving, yet always intelligent. She thoroughly enjoys her solos and leads the other girls through their paces as easily as she allows the vulnerable Franz to make a fool of himself. Carlos Acosta's Franz, indeed, would have made any but a puppet's heart jump! Luke Heydon's Doctor Coppélius and Leana Palmer's Coppélia could not be bettered.
