Sherbet was a band that shouldve conqured the world with their awesome pop songs !!!! With 2 previous albums that sank without notice & went straight to the cutout bins in the USA along with no U.S. label support from MCA Records,Sherbet moved to Los Angeles in 1978 to record their next album. Sherbet found a new label in the U.S., with Robert Stigwood's RSO Records & changed their sound to a more "Southern California Sound" along with RSO Records insisting on a name change (RSO felt Sherbet was too Teeny Bop) to "Highway" for the U.S. market (the Highway album still carried the name Sherbet for the rest of the world).

RSO put Highway on the road as the opening act for fellow RSO Records artist Andy Gibb for his North American tour in 1979. RSO Records put no support or promotion on Highway's album in 1979,instead,they focused their support on..The BeeGees,,Andy Gibb,Player,The Rockets etc... It's really a shame cause there isnt a weak song on the Highway 1 album !!! It's filled with hooks, especially on songs like....(Feels Like It's) Slippin Away,,Another Night On The Road,,Don't Wait Too Long,,You Made A Fool,,(If I)Breakdown. Renaissance Records did an excellent job with this release, but, I did notice that it's in the song order as the Australian release & that the song, "You Made A Fool" is the original version / mix & not the "Remix" version that appears on the U.S. release.

Renaissance did include as one of the bonus tracks,"Heart Get Ready" which was Highway's last single under the name, Highway, before they changed their name again in 1980 to, "The Sherbs. A song from Highway's 1979 sessions, "Angela" appears as a bonus track on "The Sherbs / The Skill" cd release on Renaissance Records. I remember seeing tons of the Highway 1 album in all the record stores in 1979,but,RSO just wasnt behind it. Highway 1 is one of my all time favorite albums & my favorite album of 1979. ---S.
