Wow! Once you hear that angelic voice, it stays with you. You never forget it. There has been many famous child singers like Heintje, Joselito, and others, but none can compare with Robertino. He is simply the very best. A real prodigee! Even today, when you hear him sing, as a man (tenor) he still sounfs great. I'll never know why he didn't get to make a CD with Pavarotti, Modugno...That CD is always plaing in my car, and at home. All beautiful songs. A must!!! ---Johnny Lewis, amazon.com

Robertino Loretti (born 22 October 1946 in Rome) is an Italian singer, known mostly for songs he performed as a teenager. He was born to a large family with eight other children. His family was poor, and when he was 10 his father fell sick and Robertino helped the family deliver bakery products to restaurants. He enjoyed singing folk songs on his way and was noticed by people for his singing voice. After a request to perform at a wedding in a restaurant, Robertino was sought after by other restaurants for the same services.

Robertino sang in Cafe Grand Italia where Neapolitan actor Totò and Danish TV producer Volmer Sørensen noticed him. Sørensen was vacationing in Rome with his wife, singer Grethe Sønck, who noticed the boy. Their interest in him led to performances on Danish TV shows. Robertino recorded an album while in Copenhagen. His voice eventually changed and is said to be less distinguishable than before, though Loreti still travels through Europe, the US and Russia performing in concerts. He is said to be especially popular in Russia, where he is friends with Russian singers Muslim Magomayev, Tamara Sinyavskaya and Joseph Kobzon. Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova requested his records played while she was in space. ---last.fm
