This is Mississippi Gabe Carter's second released album. It is of a live performance, recorded in Carter's hometown of Chicago. This night also featured Gabe's sidekick, Walter Carter; whom he calls, "Uncle Walt". It was a very rare occasion, as this is one of the only shows Uncle Walt could be conviced to do, after his 19 year stay in prison. He has four tracks on this album as well. Listening to Walt will transport you back to his heyday of the mid-seventies Chicago westside.

This recording exemplifies some of the most real blues you will ever hear coming out of Chicago today. Gabe's musical roots are firmly planted in the Mississippi Delta town of Bentonia. This was the home of Skip James, and Jack Owens. You are guaranteed not to hear anyone else who sounds like Mississippi Gabe Carter.

If you dig that trancy, groovin, gonna-go-down-to-Eli's-and-get-your-pistol-out-of-pawn style blues that has a depth of sound and emotion like no other in the current generation of players...well...be prepared to fork over three 5 dollar bills and receive your epiphany. First time I heard this guy's voice I was nailed to the floor, then i heard the guitar and it knocked me over. It's only happened 4 times in my life...first time I heard John Lee Hooker...first time I heard RL Burnside...first time I heard Odell Harris...and now Mississippi Gabe Carter. And MGC is still alive y'all! ---CR Humphrey
