‘Mamma' is the result of a collaboration between Luciano Pavarotti and Henry Mancini. Some of the most popular Italian songs such as 'In un palco della Scala', 'Vivere' and 'La Ghirlandeina' are sung by Pavarotti with love and treated to typical lush Mancini orchestrations. The whole thing is a joy to listen to especially my favourite: a version of 'Two lovely black eyes' (yes, honestly!) influenced by Pavarotti's attendance at an Eisteddfod early in his career.
