Is it possible for an AC/DC like band to outdo AC/DC? If there was a band up to the challenge, ’77 would be the act. ’77 recently released their sophomore effort, High Decibels, and they show no sign of the dreaded sophomore slump.

Singer Armand Valeta continues to show his near perfect vocal mimicry of AC/DC’s legendary singer Bon Scott. His brother, LG Valeta, has Angus Young’s sound and style down to perfection. Sure the music or style isn’t very original, but what ’77 lacks in originality, they show in the pure passion they devoted to the music. Their latest effort High Decibels is a another hard rockin’ affair that will please those that enjoyed the band’s debut album, 21st Century Rock. Some of my favorites on this CD are the high octane title track “High Decibels”, “Let’s Beat It Up” and “Gimme A Dollar”.

If you need an AC/DC like fix to hold you over until Brian Johnson & Angus Young record another album, High Decibels is an album, you will want to purchase. I enjoyed it, and I think you will too. --- hardrockhideout.com
